*Spoiler free review*
This series ended up being a HUGE disappointment!
I really liked the first two books (specially the first), but then not only they started to be released in the wrong order (book 1, 2, 5, 3 and 4) but even worse, their content went south.
Some of the things that didn't work for me:
1/ The heroine. Luckily she wasn't as bad as the one in the previous book, but I still had issues with her, the mains one being the lack of consistency and character development. Sometimes she was behaving like an adult but at other times she was behaving like a teenager.
Also, she's a Sinners fan and knows pretty much everything about them (view spoiler) but even though Trey is very open about it, she is absolutely clueless when it comes to his bisexuality *rolls eyes*. Moreover, her reaction when she at last learn the truth about it was a big "what the hell" moment. Credible. Not.
2/ Here again, it wasn't as bad as in Wicked Beat but there were too many sex scenes to the detriment of the story line and relationships developments. Therefore their love story was absolutely not credible. If I can believe in lust at first sight or even love at first sight, the "I fall in love with you during our first night of monkey sex" is so not believable. The "falling in love" moment between Trey and Ethan was even less believable. Same thing goes for Trey and Brian relationship.
3/ Although it was more present than in Wicket Beat, the rock/musical part of the book was still clearly under-used and the attempt to add a crime plot was pitiful.
4/ The m/m scenes were ok but the BDSM scene was another "what the hell" moment and the reason why it took place a major *rolls eyes*.
